What is multifunctional extractor tank machine

Multifunctional Extractor tank is used to extractor the essential oil or active ingredients from the different raw material ,like herbal leaf ,root ,stem,fruit ,seed ,flower,bark,seafood ,animal bones&viscera etc.

Working Principle 

Multifunctional extractor machine including the following unit : extractor tank ,condenser , sub-cooler ,oil/water separator,filter ,transfer pump and pipeline.These devices are made of stainless steel material which can fit FDA and GMPs.

The working principle of extraction tank is simple decocting process. herbal raw material and natural material  s soaked in water (solvent solution ) and heated by steam (or electrical ). After a certain period of time, the effective ingredients are extracted. The decocting time is determined by the performance of different materials. The amount of material input can not be unified due to the different shapes of herbal raw material and natural material and the difficulty of extracting the effective ingredients, It is suggested that the feeding amount should not exceed two thirds of the volume of the equipment. 

When extracting aromatic oil, the vapor (steam with oil) will condense and cool, and then the oil and water will enter the oil-water separator. The light oil will be discharged at the upper part of the separator, and the heavy oil will be discharged at the lower part. The water will be discharged through overflow or backflow (see the pipe orifice orientation and the use and installation diagram for the specific process), This not only can shorten the liquid time, but also can effectively exhaust the residual liquid in the slag to avoid waste. When it is difficult for slag arch (commonly known as "bridging") to get rid of slag, the lifting cylinder is driven to make the lifting rod move up and down reciprocally to help break the arch and get rid of slag until the slag is basically exhausted.

Extraction process

Multifunctional extractor machine can be used different extraction methods ,as the extractor liquid different ,we can divide the extraction process into the following methods:

(1) Water extraction method: traditional herbal or natural product raw material are put into the inside shell extraction tank via top manhole, the water charged from the inlet nozzle , and the jacket can be heating by steam or electrical ( thermal oil). After boiling in the inside shell tank, the heat source is reduced, and the boiling in the tank is maintained.for sometimes The maintenance time is determined according to the extraction process. If the extraction is closed type ( which equipped with the condenser ,sub-cooler ), cooling water is needed to cool the vapor gas in the condenser and condensate water return back to the extraction tank to maintain circulation and temperature.after the extraction process ,the extraction solution will be transferred out from the bottom filter net of the extractor tank to the storage tank by transfer pump (In order to improve the efficiency, a pump can be used to force circulation, so that the extraction solution can be sucked out from the outlet of the extraction tank through the pump and then returned to the extraction tank through the inlet nozzle of the top end of the extraction tank ),the residue material will be discharge by opening the bottom pneumatic discharge gate. 

(2) solvent based extraction method: traditional herbal or natural product raw material are put into the inside shell extraction tank via top manhole ,the solvent solution (like ethanol or acetone) charged from the inlet nozzle, which must be sealed, and the jacket can be heating by steam or electrical ( thermal oil). Turn on the cooling water to the condenser (sub-cooler), so that the rising vapor state solvent can flow back into liquid solution after passing through the condenser to maintain circulation and temperature.after the extraction process ,the extraction solution will be transferred out from the bottom filter net of the extractor tank to the storage tank by transfer pump.( In order to improve the efficiency, a pump can be used to force circulation, so that the extraction solution can be sucked out from the outlet of the extraction tank through the pump and then returned to the extraction tank through the inlet nozzle of the top end of the extraction tank ),the residue material will be discharge by opening the bottom pneumatic discharge gate. 

(3) Essential oil extraction Method: flowers or natural product raw material are put into the inside shell extraction tank via top manhole ,the water charged from the inlet nozzle , and the jacket can be heating by steam or electrical ( thermal oil),Turn on the cooling water to the condenser and chiller for the sub-cooler, so that the rising vapor state essential oil with water can be condensate via the condenser and sub-cooler ,the water with the oil mixture solution will enter into the oil/water separator unit ,the oil be collected and the water will be drain .after finished the extraction ,,the residue material will be discharge by opening the bottom pneumatic discharge gate. 

(4) Essential oil steam distill method:flowers or natural product raw material are put into the inside shell extraction tank via top manhole ,the steam direct inlet from the bottom end of inside shell extraction tank ,the steam will be distill the flower (or natural product ) to take the essential oil out directly ,Turn on the cooling water to the condenser and chiller for the sub-cooler, so that the rising vapor state essential oil with water can be condensate via the condenser and sub-cooler ,the water with the oil mixture solution will enter into the oil/water separator unit ,the oil be collected and the water will be drain .after finished the extraction ,,the residue material will be discharge by opening the bottom pneumatic discharge gate. 

(5) Recovery of solvent solution in the residue raw material method: for the solvent based extractor process ,after transfer the extraction solution ,the residue raw material still content lots solvent solution ,as usual before discharge the residue ,we need recovery the solvent in the raw material ,the method should be similar as the essential oil distill method as above . steam can be heating in jacket or distill inlet inside of extraction tank ,the solvent will be vapor  and Turn on the cooling water to the condenser and chiller for the sub-cooler, so that the rising vapor state solvent with water can be condensate via the condenser and sub-cooler ,the solvent solution will be collected there .after finished the solvent recovery process,the residue material will be discharge by opening the bottom pneumatic discharge gate.
